BT have decided to sell off their less used phoneboxes, after removing the telephony, for £1 for communities to "adopt a phonebox".

103 calls were made from it last year in spite of it having no coin facility (2009)
We live in an area with poor mobile phone coverage.
The Parish Council has written to Mid Devon District Council strongly opposing the removal of the telephone as we view it as an essential amenity for the village.
As the structure is listed BT have a responsibility to maintain it and cannot remove it. The Parish Council will not be taking up BT's offer.
